SHARON BERG - the MGS Secretary and husband took off in May to fulfill their dream of spending the summer in Alaska and are on the road. Here is an update for you. The only thing I don't envy is the price of gas up there (or here) and the long drive home!
We leave Whitehorse tomorrow for Kulane Lake and then on to Tok, AK. We went to such a fun show last night, a vaudeville routine with dancers. Don was picked to go on stage and help with a magic act. It was quite funny. Since it was so chilly and rainy we went to museums. The Tlinget museum was quite interesting. The Klingets(that is how they spell it) were the first natives in the Yukon. So much to learn about this country yet! toured the SS Klondike as well and went to a great restaurant the other night. Too expensive here! Well the sun is shining today, but it is very chilly out, probably around 42, but we will go hike in Miles Canyon today. Have seen lots of animals, bear, bison, mule deer, mountain goats and moose along the roads. Gloria - can you send me Nancy and Hank Swientowski's email? thanks. Well have to go get gas, ugh, that too is expensive.hugs, sharon
